Course overview
This course provides students with an update on current best practice for permit receiver and an opportunity to demonstrate continued competency in completion of permits.
Course structure
The course is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions. Students are assessed continuously during the course.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course students will be able to:
- Demonstrate current knowledge of a PTW system.
- Carry out two permits in compliance with organisational requirements
Course prerequisites
Current Unit Standard US17588 or a documented equivalent that is deemed acceptable by Wood Training.
Assessment process
Theory assessment followed by practical assessment which takes place when the student is ready/has shown that they can perform all tasks required. The practical involves completion of two permits signed off by the assessor on the training day.
Certification
A Permit to Work Refresher certificate will be issued on successful completion of all assessment requirements.
Revalidation/Refresher
To maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher training occurs regularly. Depending on the industry you work in this may vary. Current Wood Training recommendation is every three years.
Items to Bring
- Photo ID.
- Appropriate streetwear can be worn.
- You may bring two completed CPTW permits or complete on the training day.
Health
A basic level of fitness is required.
Eligibility
Students eligible to study with Wood Training are:
- Permanent Residents,
- Australian Citizens, or
- Holders of work-visas who are required to undertake training by their employer.
