DESCRIPTION:COURSE OVERVIEW\n\nThis course is designed to meet the requirements of BOSIET training\nfor O&G industry personnel.\n\n \n\nCOURSE STRUCTURE\n\nThe course is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions.\nStudents are assessed continuously during the course.\n\n \n\nMEDICAL REQUIREMENTS\n\nAll students participating in this course which has physically\ndemanding and potentially stressful elements must be physically and\nmentally capable of participating fully.\n\nPrior to undertaking the course we must be provided with a copy of one\nof the following:\n\na) a Wood Training  OPITO Medical Declaration and Screening form –\nwith a sign off from a General Practitioner, OR\n\nb) a Wood Training  OPITO Medical Declaration and Screening  form\n– with a current OEUK (formerly OGUK) medical (for going offshore),\nOR\n\nc) a Wood Training OPITO Medical Declaration and Screening form -\nwith a current and approved equivalent of an offshore medical\n(organisation specific), OR\n\nd) a Wood Training OPITO Medical Declaration and Screening form –\nwith a valid, unexpired medical fitness certificate for work at sea,\n_OR_\n\ne) a Wood Training OPITO Medical Declaration and Screening form –\nwith a valid and current certificate of medical fitness for diving at\nwork.\n\n We must receive these documents NO LATER THAN 48 HOURS BEFORE COURSE\nCOMMENCEMENT. If not received within this timeframe you may be\ndeclined entry to the course. This decision will be taken on a case by\ncase basis.   \n\nNote: On the date you undertake shallow-water CA-EBS training, and\nprior to entering the water in which this takes place, each student\nmust read and sign a statement, that to the best of their knowledge\nand belief, they have no (current/past) medical condition which makes\nthem unfit to participate in the training. \n\n \n\nASSESSMENT PROCESS\n\nA multichoice assessment is undertaken at the end of each session\nfollowed by practical assessments (except for Safety Induction) which\ntakes place when the student is ready/has shown they can perform all\ntasks required. If a student is deemed not competent, the process for\nreassessment will be advised by the instructor.\n\n  \n\nCERTIFICATION\n\nAn OPITO approved BOSIET with CA-EBS certificate will be awarded to\nstudents who successfully complete theory and practical course\ncomponents. Results submitted to OPITO.\n\n \n\nREVALIDATION/REFRESHER\n\n Valid for four years. Must be renewed PRIOR to expiry date by\nattending a FOET course otherwise a full BOSIET is required. \n\n \n\nITEMS TO BRING\n\n 	* Photo ID (government issued).\n 	* Appropriate steetwear can be worn. \n 	* Safety boots are required to enter Port Taranaki for TEMPSC\nactivity.\n 	* Swimming attire and towel.\n 	* Thermal top to wear under dry suit (optional).\n 	* Personal toiletries (for shower).\n 	* Water bottle.\n\n \n\nHEALTH  \n\nA current Medical Certificate accompanied by a Wood Training Medical\nSelf Declaration and Screening form OR GP-signed Wood Training Medical\nSelf Declaration and Screening form is MANDATORY prior to course\ncommencement.  All students participating in this course which has\nphysically demanding and potentially stressful elements must be\nphysically and mentally capable of participating fully.\n\n \n\nPOST TRAINING WARNING \n\nThere is an increased risk of decompression sickness if you fly at\nALTITUDE after breathing compressed air underwater. The Divers Alert\nNetwork (DAN) published Revised Flying After Diving Guidelines for\nRecreational Diving – May 2002, _RECOMMENDS A MINIMUM PRE-FLIGHT\nSURFACE INTERVAL OF 12 HOURS_. Students should take this into\nconsideration when arranging for travel after course completion and\nrefer to their company HSE department for advice.\n\n \n\nELIGIBILITY\n\nStudents eligible to study with Wood Training are:\n\n 	* Permanent Residents,\n 	* Australian Citizens, or\n 	* Holders of work-visas who are required to undertake training by\ntheir employer.\n\nProof of eligibility is required.
