DESCRIPTION:COURSE OVERVIEW\n\nThis course provides students with an understanding of the key\nprinciples of incident investigation including the concepts of\nmultiple causation and root-cause analysis, and  the skills needed to\nconduct an investigation and produce a report.\n\n \n\nCOURSE STRUCTURE\n\nThe course is theoretical. Students are assessed continuously during\nthe course.\n\n \n\nLEARNING OUTCOMES\n\nAt the end of this course students will be able to:\n\n 	* Explain why workplace accidents need to be reported and\ninvestigated.\n 	* Explain the concepts of multiple causation and root-cause\nanalysis.\n 	* Detail an incident investigation process using a hypothetical\nincident.\n 	* Produce an incident investigation report based on a documented\nincident.\n\n \n\nCOURSE PREREQUISITES\n\nNone.\n\n \n\nASSESSMENT PROCESS\n\nTheory assessment which takes place when the student is ready, and\nincludes using an hypothetical incident to document an incident\ninvestigation process and producing a report based on a documented\nincident.\n\n \n\nCERTIFICATION\n\nAn Incident Investigation certificate will be issued on successful\ncompletion of this course.\n\n \n\nREVALIDATION/REFRESHER\n\nTo maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher\ntraining occurs regularly. Depending on the industry you work in this\nmay vary. Current Wood Training recommendation is every two years.\n\n \n\nITEMS TO BRING\n\n 	* Photo ID.\n 	* Appropriate streetwear can be worn.\n\n \n\nELIGIBILITY\n\nStudents eligible to study with Wood Training are:\n\n 	* Permanent Residents,\n 	* Australian Citizens, or\n 	* Holders of work-visas who are required to undertake training by\ntheir employer.\n\nProof of eligibility is required.
