DESCRIPTION:COURSE OVERVIEW\n\nThis course enables students to refresh knowledge of the safe\noperation of a forklift and the legal obligations pertaining to that\nplant in a place of work. Skills are refreshed in the completion of\npre-operational checks prior to operations, parking and shutting down\na forklift.\n\n \n\nCOURSE STRUCTURE\n\nA combination of theoretical and practical training and assessment. \n\n \n\nLEARNING OUTCOMES\n\nAt the end of this course, students will be able to:\n\n 	* Demonstrate knowledge of the safe operation of a forklift.\n 	* Perform a preoperational inspection and start up procedure for a\nforklift.\n 	* Demonstrate practical forklift skills.\n 	* Park and shut down a forklift.\n\n \n\nCOURSE PREREQUISITES\n\nHold a current Forklift Operators Certificate.\n\n \n\nASSESSMENT PROCESS\n\nTheory assessment followed by practical assessment which takes place\nwhen student is ready/has shown that they can perform all tasks\nrequired. Assessment involves operating a Forklift without a load and\nstacking and de-staking a load.\n\n \n\nCERTIFICATION\n\nForklift Operator certification ‘(WorkSafe NZ, formerly OSH)'\ncan be awarded to students.  \n\n \n\nREVALIDATION/REFRESHER\n\nCertification refresher every three years as per the Approved Code of\nPractice for Training Operators and Instructors of Powered Industrial\nLift Tucks (Forklifts), and Competenz ITO requirements.\n\nStudents must have attended their previous forklift certificate\nthrough Wood to attend a revalidation course.  If you have done\ntraining with another company, we will ask you to provide us with your\noperator certification, or you will be required to attend the full\nWorkSafe NZ (formally OSH) Certification course again.\n\n \n\nITEMS TO BRING\n\n 	* Photo ID.\n 	* Comfortable clothing with covered footwear suitable for classroom\nsituation. \n\n	* PPE requirements for practical: \n\n 	* Safety boots.\n 	* All other PPE will be supplied.\n\n \n\nELIGIBILITY\n\nStudents eligible to study with Wood Training are:\n\n 	* Permanent Residents,\n 	* Australian Citizens, or\n 	* Holders of work-visas who are required to undertake training by\ntheir employer.\n\nProof of eligibility is required.
