DESCRIPTION:COURSE OVERVIEW\n\nThis course provides students with a refresher on the knowledge and\nskills needed to perform CPR and manage common medical and trauma in\nemergency situations.\n\n \n\nCOURSE STRUCTURE\n\nThe course is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions.\nStudents are assessed continuously during the course.\n\n \n\nLEARNING OUTCOMES\n\nAt the end of this course, students will be able to:\n\n 	* Perform two rounds of CPR for an adult/child and an infant.\n 	* Provide first aid relevant to two given scenarios\n\n \n\nCOURSE PREREQUISITES\n\nA current New Zealand First Aid Certificate (6400, 6401, 6402) or a\nFirst Aid Refresher certificate covering the same units that are no\nolder than two years and three months or a documented equivalent that\nis deemed acceptable by Wood Training.\n\n \n\nASSESSMENT PROCESS\n\nShort quizzes followed by practical assessment which takes place when\nthe student is ready/has shown that they can perform all tasks\nrequired.  \n\nThe assessment will involve first aid scenario in adult and infant CPR\nand practical scenarios relevant to the first aid certificate held.\n\n \n\nCERTIFICATION\n\nA New Zealand First Aid Revalidation Certificate will be issued on\nsuccessful completion of this course. 6400 - 6402: New Zealand First\nAid Revalidation Certificate.\n\n \n\nREVALIDATION/REFRESHER\n\nTo maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher\ntraining occurs regularly.  NZQA and Toitu te Waiora identify this as\nevery two years. \n\n \n\nITEMS TO BRING\n\n 	* Photo ID.\n 	* Appropriate Streetwear can be worn.\n\n \n\nELIGIBILITY\n\nStudents eligible to study with Wood Training are:\n\n 	* Permanent Residents,\n 	* Australian Citizens, or\n 	* Holders of work-visas who are required to undertake training by\ntheir employer.\n\nProof of eligibility is required.
