DESCRIPTION:COURSE OVERVIEW\n\nThis course provides students with the knowledge and skills to issuer\npermits in the workplace.\n\n \n\nCOURSE STRUCTURE\n\nThe course is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions.\nStudents are assessed continuously during the course.\n\n \n\nLEARNING OUTCOMES\n\nAt the end of this course students will be able to:\n\n 	* Explain work permit procedures and requirements.\n 	* Ensure the need for a work permit is properly identified and the\nworksite is prepared accordingly.\n 	* Issue a work permit; monitor and close the work permit; and audit\nwork permits.\n\n \n\nCOURSE PREREQUISITES\n\nStudents must have achieved NZQA US 17588, Permit to Work Receiver or\nequivalent.\n\n \n\nASSESSMENT PROCESS\n\nTheory assessment followed by practical assessment which takes place\nwhen the student is ready/has shown that they can perform all tasks\nrequired.  The practical involves completion of two permits  and\nauditing of two other permits, as part of an on job assignment (OJA)\nsigned off by a supervisor at the student’s workplace and returned\nwithin 90 days.\n\n \n\nCERTIFICATION\n\nA Permit to Work Issuer certificate will be issued on successful\ncompletion of all assessment requirements.\n\n \n\nREVALIDATION/REFRESHER\n\nTo maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher\ntraining occurs regularly.  Depending on the industry you work in\nthis may vary.  Current Wood Training recommendation is every three\nyears.\n\n \n\nITEMS TO BRING\n\n 	* Photo ID.\n 	* Comfortable clothing suitable for classroom.\n 	* Covered-in footwear.\n\n \n\nELIGIBILITY\n\nStudents eligible to study with Wood Training are:\n\n 	* Permanent Residents,\n 	* Australian Citizens, or\n 	* Holders of work-visas who are required to undertake training by\ntheir employer.\n\nProof of eligibility is required.
