DESCRIPTION:COURSE OVERVIEW\n\nThis course provides students with the knowledge and skills to manage\nless common, but severe medical and trauma in emergency situations.\n\n \n\nCOURSE STRUCTURE\n\nThe course is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions.\nStudents are assessed continuously during the course.\n\n \n\nLEARNING OUTCOMES\n\nAt the end of this course students will be able to:\n\n 	* Perform two rounds of CPR for an adult/child and infant in a given\nscenario.\n\n \n\nCOURSE PREREQUISITES\n\nA current First Aid certificate covering NZQA US 6400 series of units\nthat is no older than two years and three months or a documented\nequivalent that is deemed acceptable by Wood Training. \n\n \n\nASSESSMENT PROCESS\n\nShort quizzes followed by practical assessment which takes place when\nthe student is ready/has shown that they can perform all tasks\nrequired.  The assessment will involve a first aid scenario in\nadult/child and infant CPR. \n\n \n\nCERTIFICATION\n\nA First Aid Refresher certificate will be issued on successful\ncompletion of this course.\n\n \n\nREVALIDATION/REFRESHER\n\nTo maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher\ntraining occurs regularly.  NZQA and the Skills Organisation identify\nthis as every two years. \n\n \n\nITEMS TO BRING\n\n 	* Photo ID.\n 	* Comfortable clothing suitable for participating in practical\nexercises.\n 	* Covered-in footwear.\n\n \n\nELIGIBILITY\n\nStudents eligible to study with Wood Training are:\n\n 	* Permanent Residents,\n 	* Australian Citizens, or\n 	* Holders of work-visas who are required to undertake training by\ntheir employer.\n\nProof of eligibility is required.
