DESCRIPTION:COURSE OVERVIEW\n\nThis course provides students with knowledge of basic workplace\nsafety, an understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and\nthe skills needed to then apply key principles in the workplace.  It\nwill also provide an overview on the responsibilities of people in the\nworkforce including steps to take to ensure the safety of themselves\nand others.  Given a scenario students will be able to complete a job\nsafety analysis.\n\n \n\nCOURSE STRUCTURE\n\nThis course consists of online learning modules that you work through\nat your own pace. At the very end of the course there are summative\nassessment tasks. \n\n \n\nAfter you contact Wood Training, we will send you a confirmation email\nwith a link to the course and a self-enrolment key.  You will be\nprompted in the system to set up a profile, with information that we\nneed for your enrolment.\n\n \n\nLEARNING OUTCOMES\n\nAt the end of this course students will be able to:\n\n 	* Identify and describe legislative rights and responsibilities for\nworkplace health and safety.\n 	* Describe the systems approach to workplace health and safety.\n 	* Explain how risks and hazards are defined in the HSWA 2015.\n 	* Identify the principles of workplace safety in a given workplace\nand demonstrate safe work practices in a specific workplace.\n 	* Complete a simple job safety analysis (JSA).\n\n \n\nCOURSE PREREQUISITES\n\nStudents must be in work. \n\n \n\nASSESSMENT PROCESS\n\nTheory assessment which takes place when student is ready. This\ninclude completion of a JSA based on a scenario provided. \n\n \n\nCERTIFICATION\n\nAfter successful completion of the online course you will be issued\nwith an electronic badge.  Before we can issue you with a formal\nWorkplace Safety Plus Certificate, you will need to contact Wood\nTraining with proof of identity.\n\n \n\nREVALIDATION/REFRESHER\n\nTo maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher\ntraining occurs regularly.  Depending on the industry you work in\nthis may vary. Current Wood Training recommendation is every two\nyears.\n\n \n\nTHINGS YOU NEED \n\n 	* Access to a computer and stable internet.\n 	* An email address.\n\n \n\nELIGIBILITY\n\nStudents eligible to study with Wood Training are:\n\n 	* Permanent Residents,\n 	* Australian Citizens, or\n 	* Holders of work-visas who are required to undertake training by\ntheir employer.\n\nProof of eligibility is required.
