DESCRIPTION:COURSE OVERVIEW\n\nThis course provides students with the skills and knowledge of\nplanning a confined space entry including preparation of emergency\nplans, identification of hazards and appropriate controls to ensure\nsafe entry and work in a confined space.\n\n \n\nCOURSE STRUCTURE\n\nThe course is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions.\nStudents are assessed continuously during the course.\n\n \n\nLEARNING OUTCOMES\n\nAt the end of this course students will be able to:\n\n 	* Demonstrate knowledge of confined spaces, and their permit\nnotification and implementation requirements.\n 	* Identify control measures to eliminate and minimise risk of\nhazards in confined spaces.\n 	* Demonstrate knowledge of monitoring and confined space testing\nrequirements.\n 	* Describe responsibilities and duties of people entering confined\nspaces/ conducting observation duties for confined spaces.\n 	* Identify hazards and controls within confined spaces.\n 	* Develop an emergency procedure plan for a confined space.\n 	* Complete documentation required for confined space entry.\n\n \n\nCOURSE PREREQUISITES\n\nIt is recommended that students have achieved Taranaki Passport Plus\nor equivalent, or have related experience.\n\n \n\nASSESSMENT PROCESS\n\nTheory assessment which takes place when the student is ready which\nincludes planning for a confined space entry table top scenario.\n\n \n\nCERTIFICATION\n\nA Plan a Confined Space Entry certificate will be issued on successful\ncompletion of this course.\n\n \n\nREVALIDATION/REFRESHER\n\nTo maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher\ntraining occurs regularly.  Depending on the industry you work in\nthis may vary.  Current Wood Training recommendation is every two\nyears.\n\n \n\nITEMS TO BRING\n\n 	* Photo ID.\n 	* Comfortable clothing suitable for classroom.\n 	* Covered-in footwear.\n\n \n\n \n\nELIGIBILITY\n\nStudents eligible to study with Wood Training are:\n\n 	* Permanent Residents,\n 	* Australian Citizens, or\n 	* Holders of work-visas who are required to undertake training by\ntheir employer.\n\nProof of eligibility is required.
