DESCRIPTION:COURSE OVERVIEW\n\nThis course provides students with an understanding of the roles and\nresponsibilities of a fire and emergency warden in accordance with\nlegal requirements, as well as factors involved in the safe evacuation\nof a workplace or site in an emergency.\n\n \n\nCOURSE STRUCTURE\n\nThe course is conducted in a classroom environment and is   theory\nbased.  Students are assessed continuously during the course.\n\n \n\nLEARNING OUTCOMES\n\nAt the end of this course students will be able to:\n\n 	* Demonstrate knowledge of evacuation requirements for a particular\nworkplace or site.\n 	* Explain the duties of a Fire and Emergency Warden.\n\n \n\nCOURSE PREREQUISITES\n\nNone.\n\n \n\nASSESSMENT PROCESS\n\nA written assessment is completed. \n\n \n\nCERTIFICATION\n\nA Fire and Emergency Warden in the Workplace Certificate will be\nissued on successful completion of this course.\n\n \n\nREVALIDATION/REFRESHER\n\nTo maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher\ntraining occurs regularly. Depending on the industry you work in this\nmay vary. Current Wood Training recommendation is every two years.\n\n \n\nITEMS TO BRING\n\n 	* Photo ID.\n 	* Comfortable clothing suitable for classroom.\n 	* Covered-in footwear.\n 	* A COPY OF YOUR SITE’S EMERGENCY EVACUATION SCHEME.\n\n \n\nELIGIBILITY\n\nStudents eligible to study with Wood Training are:\n\n 	* Permanent Residents,\n 	* Australian Citizens, or\n 	* Holders of work-visas who are required to undertake training by\ntheir employer.\n\nProof of eligibility is required.
