DESCRIPTION:COURSE OVERVIEW\n\nThis course allows experienced gas testers to update their knowledge\nof gas and atmospheric testing equipment and demonstrate current\ncompetency in gas testing and recording results.  \n\n \n\nCOURSE STRUCTURE\n\nThis course consists of online learning modules that you work through\nat your own pace. At the very end of the course there are summative\nassessment tasks and a requirement to complete an attestation that is\nsigned by your workplace supervisor.  If you are unable to fulfill\nthe attestation requirement, practical demonstration of skills can be\nundertaken by attending a practical session at our facilities (cost to\nbe advised). \n\n \n\nAfter you contact Wood Training, we will send you a confirmation email\nwith a link to the course and a self-enrolment key.  You will be\nprompted in the system to set up a profile, with information that we\nneed for your enrolment.\n\n \n\nLEARNING OUTCOMES\n\nAt the end of this course students will be able to:\n\n 	* Demonstrate current knowledge of gas testing terms; commons gases\nand alarm set points.\n 	* Identify pre use equipment checks and general features of a gas\ndetector.\n 	* Perform gas test(s) and/or interpret/record results.\n\n \n\nCOURSE PREREQUISITES\n\nMust hold NZQA US 3058 or a documented equivalent that is deemed\nacceptable by Wood Training.\n\n \n\nCERTIFICATION\n\nAfter successful completion of the online course you will be issued\nwith an electronic badge. Before we can issue you with a formal Gas\nTesting Refresher Certificate you will be asked to contact Wood\nTraining with proof of identity.\n\n \n\nREVALIDATION/REFRESHER\n\nTo maintain current competency, it is recommended refresher training\noccurs regularly.  Depending on the industry you work in this may\nvary.  Current Wood Training recommendation is every two years.\n\n \n\nTHINGS YOU NEED \n\n 	* Access to a computer and stable internet.\n 	* An email address.\n\n \n\nELIGIBILITY\n\nStudents eligible to study with Wood Training are:\n\n 	* Permanent Residents,\n	* Australian Citizens, or\n	* Holders of work-visas who are required to undertake training by\ntheir employer.\n\nProof of eligibility is required.
