Course overview
This course is suitable for all workers who require the basic understanding of manual handling of materials, goods, products and equipment in the workplace.
Course structure
The course is available online only.
After you contact Wood Training, we will send you a confirmation email with a self-enrolment key.
You will be sent a link to access your course with this self-enrolment key. You will be prompted in the system to set up a profile, with information that we need for your enrolment.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course students will be able to:

demonstrate knowledge of type of manual handling, body movement risks and workplace situations that could result in injury.

demonstrate knowledge of legal requirements under WorkSafe NZ and Health and Safety legislation

identify the principles of safe manual handling practices.
Assessment process
This course consists of online learning modules that you work through at your own pace, and a short quiz.
Certification
After successful completion of the online course, you will be issued with an electronic badge. Before we can issue you with a formal Manual Handling Awareness Certificate, you will need to contact Wood Training with proof of identity.

Eligibility
Students eligible to study with Wood Training are:
- Permanent Residents,
- Australian Citizens, or
- Holders of work-visas who are required to undertake training by their employer.
